7:00 AM | *A warm frontal passage later tonight leads to a surge in temperatures on Thursday with afternoon highs well up in the 70's*

Paul Dorian

It starts off quite chilly this morning and remains on the cool side this afternoon despite some fading sunshine as a warm front approaches the area. That warm front can produce isolated showers around here later tonight and then temperatures should surge on Thursday following its passage with tomorrow’s highs well up in the 70’s. This front (and additional fronts) will keep it somewhat unsettled around here for the late week and weekend with a daily shot at some shower activity, and maybe a couple of thunderstorms mixed in. Looking ahead, a colder-than-normal air mass arrives in the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast US on Monday and it looks like the first half of next week will feature below-normal temperatures for this time of year.

7:00 AM | **Colder and unsettled for the remainder of the week with a chance of rain and/or snow showers on occasion...not quite baseball weather for the Rockies home opener on Friday afternoon**

Paul Dorian

Colder and unsettled weather comes to the region for the remainder of the week with rain and snow on the table at times. While there can be some rain and/or snow shower activity later today, a better chance comes on Thursday and again from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning (not great weather for the Rockies home opener at 4pm on Friday).

It starts off quite chilly this morning and remains on the cool side this afternoon despite some fading sunshine as a warm front approaches the area. That warm front can produce scattered showers around here later tonight and then temperatures should surge on Thursday following its passage with tomorrow’s highs near 70 degrees. 7:00 AM | **Unseasonably warm conditions from today into the weekend**

Paul Dorian

A very unsettled weather pattern is coming to the Middle Mississippi Valley and Tennessee Valley regions that will include a severe weather threat from later today into tonight and an excessive rainfall threat through the upcoming weekend. Much of the activity both in terms of severe weather and heavy rainfall we’ll likely stay just to our west and north into Friday, but we’ll have to keep a close eye on it...as it stands, some decent rainfall is still likely around here and there certainly can be some strong-to-severe thunderstorm activity as well.

7:00 AM | *A warm frontal passage later tonight leads to a surge in temperatures on Thursday with afternoon highs in the upper 70's*

Paul Dorian

It starts off chilly this morning, but temperatures should be able to climb back to near 60 degrees this afternoon with plenty of clouds around as a warm front approaches the area. That warm front can produce a shower or two around here later tonight and then temperatures should surge on Thursday following its passage with tomorrow’s highs in the upper 70’s. This front (and additional fronts) will keep it somewhat unsettled around here for the late week and weekend with a daily shot at some shower activity and a few thunderstorms may be mixed into the picture. ***Severe weather on Wed/Wed Night with multiple strong tornadoes a risk...a multi-day extreme rain/flooding event...both of which will be focused on the Middle MS Valley/TN Valley/Ohio Valley***

Paul Dorian

An on-going active weather pattern will result in strong-to-severe thunderstorms later today and tonight across the middle of the country and there can be isolated tornadoes as well. On Wednesday and Wednesday night, the severe weather threat will become enhanced across the Middle Mississippi Valley/Tennessee Valley and Ohio Valley and, this time, multiple strong tornadoes will be on the table. In this same part of the nation, it appears that a multi-day extreme rainfall event is on the way from later tomorrow through the upcoming weekend with widespread serious flooding a real concern.

7:15 AM | *New evidence comes to light and exonerates the Skipper once and for all in the shipwrecking of the S.S. Minnow...weather played a big role*

Paul Dorian

We all know the words…

the weather started getting rough, the tiny shipped was tossed…”

Indeed, stormy weather played a critical role in the shipwrecking of the S.S. Minnow on that fateful day in late September 1964 onto an uncharted “desert” island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. The ship set sail that day on a three-hour tour with five passengers, the captain of the S.S. Minnow, Jonas Grumby (aka Skipper), and his first mate named Gilligan. A sudden storm interrupted the tour, damaged the tiny ship, and the two-man crew somehow managed to steer the boat to safety onto an uninhabited island not far from the Hawaiian Islands.

For years, there has been a cloud hanging over the head of the Skipper as the result of conjecture that he was somehow at fault on that day in putting the passengers at risk. However, new evidence has come to light that should exonerate the Skipper once and for all from any wrongdoing.
